Thank you for using EasyList("we", "our", or "us"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the EasyList mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect and How We Use It

While EasyList strives to minimize data collection, certain features require interaction with user-controlled third-party services and device hardware:

  • Google Login: When you choose to log in with your Google account, we facilitate this process to provide seamless and secure access to the App and to enable Google Drive backup functionality. During this process, we receive a unique identifier from Google for authentication purposes. We do not collect or store your Google account password or any sensitive personal information from your Google account beyond what is necessary for authentication and linking to your Google Drive for backups.We do not use this information for tracking or sharing with any third parties. Your Google account is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

  • Location Data for Proximity Alerts: If you explicitly choose to enable proximity notifications or geofencing for saved places, EasyList will request access to your device's location (both foreground and background). We do not transmit, access, or store your location data or coordinates on our servers. All location calculations (such as Haversine distance tracking) are executed strictly on your local device. Coordinates are stored in your secure local SQLite database, and if backups are enabled, they are securely transmitted directly to your personal Google Drive.

2. Data Stored and Transmitted

  • Local Data Storage: All data you create in the app (such as lists, tasks, and reminder details) is primarily stored **locally on your device**. We do not transmit or access this local data in any way.

  • Google Drive Backup & Restore: EasyList offers you the option to back up your entire EasyList collection to your personal Google Drive account. This process is **user-initiated**. When you choose to back up or restore, your app data is transmitted directly between your device and your Google Drive. EasyList does not access, store, or process your backed-up data on its own servers.The security and privacy of data stored on Google Drive are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

3. Third-Party Services

EasyList uses Google's authentication and cloud storage services (Google Sign-In and Google Drive) solely at the user's initiation for login and backup functionalities. EasyList does not use any other third-party analytics or advertising services.

4. Permissions

To provide all features, EasyList may request the following device permissions:

  • Foreground Location: Required to compute the distance from your current location to your saved places while you are using the app.

  • Background Location: Required to monitor your proximity to your saved places and trigger alerts even when the app is minimized or closed.

  • Notifications: Used to display alerts for timely reminders and proximity notifications.

These permissions are strictly voluntary, and you can change them at any time in your device's settings. However, disabling these permissions may affect your ability to use certain location-based alerts.

5. Children's Privacy

EasyList is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or features. You'll see the new effective date at the top of the policy when that happens. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
